GLC Virtual 2025: A Week of Shared Vision and Global Collaboration

April 11–17, 2025

Around the world, JA is committed to offering growth and educational opportunities for staff. That’s why, every two years, JA Worldwide hosts our Global Leadership Conference (GLC) for all JA staff, no matter where they are in the world.

Over the course of four powerful days, GLC Virtual 2025 brought together voices from across the JA network to explore what it means to lead, grow, and innovate in a rapidly changing world. More than 30 sessions and over 75 speakers representing all six JA regions, the event highlighted the strength of JA’s global community and our shared commitment to empowering youth.

Originally an in-person conference for JA leadership, GLC went virtual in 2021 and opened up to staff at every level of the organization. Although the in-person edition of GLC returned in 2023, we remained committed to staff development at every level and decided to continue hosting the virtual edition. Thanks to sponsors Delta Air Lines and Adobe, that new tradition continued in 2025. This year, the event also included two days for JA alumni and three special sessions for JA volunteers, teachers, and board members.

For the first time ever, JA Worldwide hosted special sessions for JA alumni at GLC. From April 11–12, JA Alumni Days at GLC Virtual 2025 brought together JA alumni from around the world online for exclusive updates, interactive sessions with changemakers, and powerful networking opportunities. JA staff invited teachers, volunteers, and board members to attend stakeholder sessions designed exclusively for them. Watch stakeholder session recordings on jaworldwide.org.

GLC Day by Day

Day 1, Cultivate Partnerships, set the tone by spotlighting how collaboration with teachers, volunteers, alumni, and research leaders drives innovation and impact across the JA network. From strengthening volunteer engagement in Europe to positioning JA as a leader in digital education, sessions emphasized the role of strong partnerships in amplifying our mission.

Day 2, AI and Accelerate Digital, explored how digital tools and artificial intelligence are transforming learning and leadership. Highlights included region-specific approaches to expanding digital access in remote communities, practical sessions on AI prompt engineering, and insights into building digital literacy with tools like WhatsApp and Adobe. A mindfulness session reminded us that innovation and well-being go hand in hand.

Day 3, Strengthen OneJA, focused on resilience and long-term strategy and celebrated JA staff milestones. The day began with a session on burnout prevention and continued with the celebration of Service Awards honoring over 500 staff. Conversations ranged from scaling impact and youth advocacy to managing risk and fundraising strategies. A key moment came with an update on JA Worldwide’s strategic plan, reinforcing our collective vision.

Day 4, Empower the Underserved, closed the event by centering equity, inclusion, and access. Sessions tackled educational initiatives in underserved communities, youth entrepreneurship in Africa, and internship pathways across MENA. We also explored tools like JA ID and IPS to streamline access and measure outcomes, capping the day with an inspiring call to turn conflict into collaboration through the Million Peacemakers framework.

GLC Virtual 2025 affirmed the strength of the JA network and our ongoing drive to connect global strategy with local action. As we look ahead, the energy and ideas shared this week will continue to shape how we serve young people around the world.
