Future Bound 2026 Lands in Boston

June 11, 2026

This week, Junior Achievement students from around the United States gathered in Boston, Massachusetts for Future Bound, a celebration of all four of JA USA’s national competitions: JA Company of the Year, JA Social Innovation Challenge, JA Titan Challenge, and the JA Stock Market Challenge. Hosted on the Boston University Campus, high school students from coast to coast participated in workplace site visits, peer to peer networking, mentorship opportunities, creation collaboration and professional development workshops, social and recreational activities, and competition.

The 2026 finalists hail from 11 JA locations around the US.

The JA Stock Market Challenge

The top teams from local JA challenges held around the US come together to see who can earn the most through smart and responsive investing strategies. This fast-paced competition simulates 90 days of trading in 90 minutes where students must make decisions based on current events and market trends. Participating teams must apply and demonstrate critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and adaptability throughout a fast-paced, real-time investment simulation. They’ll balance financial capability, strategic decision-making, and risk management as they react to breaking news, analyze market trends, and make rapid-fire trading decisions under pressure while maximizing their portfolio value.

The National JA Titan Challenge

The top teams from JA locations around the US compete in real time to see who can sustain a well-rounded business operation over a series of simulated quarters. Students make financial decisions about production, marketing, research and development, and corporate social responsibility for their company. They make critical executive decisions in key areas and must apply essential professional skills—like critical thinking, data analysis, strategic planning, communication, and adaptability—throughout the competition. Success requires balancing profitability with social impact while responding to evolving market conditions and outperforming the competition.

Activities and Agenda

Day 1: Students visited offices for PWC, Staples, RSM, Boston Medical Center, Amazon, Starbucks, JA Worldwide, and more, getting a boots-on-the-ground look at companies’ operations, workplace culture, and the array of job opportunities available in different sectors. The day wrapped with a welcome dinner and student social, giving the students from JA locations all over the country the chance to network and connect with one another.

On Day 2, students attended skill-building workshops, presented their companies and ideas at the Entrepreneurial Expo trade show, and practiced on-stage presentations in preparation for the next day’s sessions with judges. Workshops covered branding and marketing, networking, interview skills, and more.

Day 3 focused on competition and celebration, with the JA Company of the Year stage presentations, the JA Stock Market Challenge, the JA Social Innovation Challenge stage presentations, and the JA Titan Challenge. After a challenging and exciting day, students, volunteers, and mentors attended the Future Bound gala, which included awards presentations for all four competitions.
