Closing the AI Divide: A Global Commitment to Inclusive AI Education
May 14, 2024
As artificial intelligence rapidly reshapes the global landscape, the need for accessible, inclusive AI education has never been more urgent. On May 13, government, academia, and industry leaders convened for a high-level public webinar, “Closing the AI Divide: The AI Skills Coalition Approach to Democratizing AI Education.”
Chaired by ITU Secretary-General Doreen Bogdan-Martin and hosted by AI for Good, the session brought together global partners—including JA Worldwide—to explore solutions for bridging the AI skills gap and expanding digital literacy. The event highlighted innovative strategies to make AI education more equitable, particularly for underserved communities, women, and youth in developing and Least Developed Countries.
JA Worldwide Chief Operating Officer Caroline Jenner served as JA’s delegate to the AI Skills Coalition, underscoring JA’s commitment to global collaboration and to ensuring young people everywhere can engage with and shape the future of AI.
JA’s participation in the AI Skills Coalition is grounded in our mission to equip young people with the tools and mindsets to thrive in a fast-changing world. As one of more than 25 founding contributors to the coalition, JA is committed to fostering a skilled, tech-prepared workforce through hands-on learning and values-based leadership.
