JA Global Leadership Conference

Around the world, JA is committed to offering growth and educational opportunities for staff. That’s why, every two years, JA Worldwide hosts our Global Leadership Conference (GLC) for all JA staff, no matter where they are in the world.

Originally an in-person conference for JA leadership, GLC went virtual in 2021 and opened up to staff at every level of the organization. Although the in-person edition of GLC returned in 2023, we remained committed to staff development at every level and decided to continue hosting the virtual edition. That new tradition will continue in 2025.

GLC Virtual in the second quarter of 2025 will harness the best of our network, offering a one-stop-shop for staff to connect with like-minded colleagues and engage in functional learning and growth opportunities. Thanks to sponsors like Delta Air Lines, JA staff can network within our global community and hear from world-class speakers—all from the comfort of their own space.

We’ll also host in-person GLC 2025 (fourth quarter of 2025) for JA leadership in . . . drumroll, please . . . Rio de Janeiro, Brazil! Expanding on previous in-person GLCs held in Oslo, Boston, Toronto, Atlanta, Berlin, and Bangkok, GLC Rio will bring together JA leadership from around the world. Sessions will focus on new ways to innovate, expand how we deliver JA learning experiences, and reach our long-term strategic goals. 

GLC Bangkok

GLC Bangkok featured a high-level, strategic agenda, focusing on new ways to innovate, expand the way we deliver JA learning experiences, and reach our long-term goal of delivering 100 million student learning experiences per year.

Hosted by JA Thailand and JA Asia Pacific, GLC Bangkok is our first global gathering in the Asia Pacific region. And thanks to our partners Delta Air Lines and Z Zurich Foundation, JA Worldwide has subsidized the GLC conference fee, so that even more JA leaders can attend.

GLC Virtual

GLC Virtual was a free, open, virtual four-day conference focused on functional training in fundraising, marketing, program management, and so much more. Historically an in-person event for JA leadership, the pandemic brought GLC online in 2021. That year, we invited all JA staff to join, as well as board members and JA alumni, and our online, all-staff version was so successful that we decided to keep that format in 2023, in addition to hosting the first in-person GLC since 2019: GLC Bangkok, took place in November 2023.

Over one week, GLC Virtual brought four days of functional training to more than 3,000 JA staff in 118 countries. This free, open, virtual four-day conference hosted on virtual conference platform vFairs and made possible in part by our partners Delta Air Lines and Z Zurich Foundation, focused on learning management, fundraising and partnerships, marketing and brand, program management, financial resilience, and so much more. Attendees will get all the benefits of an in-person event—including numerous networking opportunities, inspiring speakers, and impactful presentations—without the cost and time of travel . . . and while wearing yoga pants and fuzzy slippers!
