Work with Purpose

How do you work with purpose throughout your career?

Together with the MetLife Foundation, JA Worldwide is pleased create a new digital experience for young people sharing how MetLife employees find purpose in their work.

“Work with Purpose” will follow in the footsteps of previous collections of work advice for young people:

  • Shattering Glass, an ebook that offers career advice from JA female-identifying staff from around the world

  • STEMspiration, which showcases J&J employees, their roles, and their skillsets

  • Global Business Hall of Fame, which features the stories of inspiring business professionals and entrepreneurs in a multimedia format

How to Submit Your Advice

Step 1: Select one or more areas that best fit how you find purpose in your work.

  • Making a more sustainable world

  • Helping people grow their skills

  • Advocating for the underserved

  • Helping my community thrive

  • Living my values

  • Impacting youth

  • Working for the empowerment of women and people of color

  • Other

Step 2: Answer the questions that most speak to you.

Step 3: Expand on your idea, sharing advice, stories, or comments that can help youth find purpose in their work.

Quick tip 1: Keep in mind that young people will be the audience for what you share. JA students and alumni are eager to make a big difference in the world, but they’re not sure how to do that. Hearing how you have found purpose will spark new opportunities and paths in their lives.

Quick tip 2: You’re invited to write your response in English, Chinese, French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Spanish, or Turkish. JA Worldwide’s team will translate all non-English submissions and lightly edit all submissions for spelling, punctuation, grammar, and length as needed, so don’t worry about making your responses perfect.

We’d love to launch in September, so quick replies are best. But we’ll keep this page open indefinitely and continue to update with your stories and experiences.
