Help Shape the Direction of Web3.0

First came the internet, then came social media . . . what’s next? Enter Web3.0 (or simply web3), which includes crypto, NFTs, blockchain, and more.

Ready to design and build for web3? Join JA Worldwide and CocoNFT in a three-part virtual summer program for JA students and alumni ages 14 and up. Sign up as an Entrepreneur-in-Residence or a Creator-in-Residence, create (or link) your crypto wallet, then work with an assigned partner to design, launch, market, and sell your very own NFT.

Who: Students and JA alumni ages 14 and up can join this workshop. Participants will work in pairs and take on one of two roles:

  • As an Entrepreneur-in-Residence, you’ll be paired with a Creator-in-Residence to market and sell your NFT.

  • The Creator-in-Residence will design the NFT and work with an assigned Entrepreneur-in-Residence to market and sell your NFT.

Not sure which role you’d like? You can apply for either one. You and your assigned partner can split up duties however you’d like.

When: You’ll join the first session on July 20, 2022, at 9amPDT/12pmEDT/6pmCEST with two more sessions to follow in August. You must attend all three sessions! All participants will connect and communicate via Discord.

What Is Web3.0?

Web3.0: The next iteration of the internet. The birth and widespread adoption of the internet and static websites in the 1990s comprised Web1.0, followed by the advent of the interactive web via social media and its various iterations, now called Web2.0. Web3 is already changing how websites and the internet work and how humans interact with them. Think blockchain, metaverse, and non-fungible tokens (NFTs).

Do I need to know Web3.0 for this workshop?

You do not need prior experience with NFTs or Web3.0. (Of course, if you have some knowledge, that’s great!) A healthy dose of curiosity and a desire to learn are always welcome.

What’s an NFT?

A non-fungible token (NFT) is a digital asset that’s stored on the blockchain and represents ownership of anything from digital art, music, the virtual world, and more. The non-fungible part means that an NFT is one-of-a-kind and is not interchangeable. (Think of an NFT as a digital version of a single trading card.) You can buy, sell or hold your trading card but there’s only one of them out there, which is why some people also call NFTs “crypto-collectibles.” More from CocoNFT.

Who can join this workshop?

Are you 14 or older? Join the workshop—and change the world! (You do not have to be a JA student or an alumnus to participate.)

What is CocoNFT?

CocoNFT believes that every creator should be able to create and monetize their NFTs. To make this possible, artists use CocoNFT to convert their social media content into NFTs without any upfront costs, allowing artists to regain control over the distribution and resale of their art.
