Weather
November in Rio marks the end of spring, bringing warm and humid conditions. Expect average temperatures between 21°C and 27°C (70°F to 81°F). Rain is fairly common, so it’s a good idea to pack light clothing, a rain jacket or umbrella, and comfortable shoes for walking.

Important Note: Security in Rio de Janeiro
For your comfort and safety, the iconic Hotel Nacional will be exclusively reserved for JA Worldwide students, staff, and leaders on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. We have implemented precautionary measures to ensure a secure and welcoming environment for all our guests.

Although Rio is a vibrant and welcoming city, like any major destination, it’s important to stay aware of your surroundings and take basic precautions. Here are a few best practices:

  • Avoid displaying valuables such as jewelry, expensive electronics, or large amounts of cash in public.

  • Use registered taxis or rideshare apps for transportation, especially at night.

  • Stick to well-lit, populated areas and avoid walking alone after dark.

  • Keep your belongings secure and be mindful in crowded areas.

  • Ask your hotel concierge or host for local safety tips and areas to avoid.

Your safety is a priority—staying alert and prepared will help ensure a smooth and enjoyable visit.
