Celebrating Earth Day by Featuring JA Student Companies

Today, we're celebrating the JA students who make every day ‪#‎EarthDay‬. Unity - A JAYE Company just launched a free carpooling service in Malta to reduce carbon emissions:http://jaww.org/1No1akF.

Mostafa Hemdan started RecycloBekia to reuse the precious metals in old smartphones, tablets, and laptops:

Mostafa Hemdan participated in JA Worldwide/INJAZ Egypt's Startup Program for college students and quickly saw a niche in the electronics waste-management field. This green industry refines the precious metals found in old smartphones, tablets, and laptops, and also gets rid of the hazardous materials in those electronics.

Dawayer Design Studio uses rice straw waste to create beautiful furniture:

Every fall in Egypt, millions of tons of rice straw (the waste that comes from rice production, is burned, creating health hazards for Egyptians. Dawayer Design Studio decided to change that. After joining the university-level JA program and learning about business planning, online marketing, and finance, the three young women experimented with the rice straw and some resin to find a combination that worked.

And in May, we'll feature a JA student company that dehydrates fruit using solar power.

We know there are thousands of examples like these, so share your JA story with us at https://www.jaworldwide.org/100lives.
